RECENT SCRIBBLE...

SATURDAY’S CHILD
by Dawn R. Siebert-Smith…14 AUGUST 09

Because I was born on a Saturday.
A fortune telling song destined me to work hard for my living
The passing of forty years brings to light the worth of Mother Goose’s nursery rhymes
In childhood, the words seemed so harmless and innocent
Yet, the sweet musical verse of my early life torment me
Why could I have not been born on a different day?
Oh, how I wish I would have been born on a Tuesday
As I would much rather be filled with grace.
Maybe I was too quick to come into this world
Then again, maybe I lingered in my mother’s womb several days too long
